Tomato Soup

" Tomato
soup won't be dull and ordinary once we add these special
touches. Why, it'll be fancy enough to serve to
company! (But make it even when it's just the family
'cause they're special, too!) "

| Ingredients |
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2-1/2 cups milk
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes, pureed

| Directions |

In soup pot, melt the butter; saute onion and green pepper
until tender, about 5 minutes. Add flour, bouillon, salt,
and pepper and stir until smooth. Remove from heat the
gradually stir in milk.

Heat to boiling, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute.
Stir in pureed tomatoes and heat to serving temperature.

| Note:
Serve with your favorite sandwich. To make the soup homier,
you can add cooked rice and get Tomato Rice Soupl. You can
also add cooked broccoli or green beans and call it Garden Tomato
Soup. |
