Preheat
oven to 350 degrees F. Grease cookies sheets.

Cream
the butter and sugar.

Add
the egg and vanilla and blend well.

Stir
together the flour and salt. Add to the creamed mixture and
blend well.

Divide
the dough in half, in two separate bowls. Add the melted
chocolate to one half and blend well.

To make each cookie, drop a teaspoon of vanilla dough onto the
cookie sheet and a teaspoon of chocolate dough right next to
it. Use a fork or spoon to push the two drops lightly
together.

The easiest way to turn out a cookie sheet
full of double drops is to put all the vanilla drops down and then
put all the chocolate drops next to them. Be sure to leave
about 2" between the cookies.

Bake for 10 minutes. Let the cookies cool for a minute
and then transfer to wire racks to finish cooling.
