Gabby's favorite breakfast cereal

This is a large batch, enough to freeze
 
In a large pot, put 8 cups of water on stove to boil
Add right away
1/2 c. pearled barley
1/2 c. soft wheat berries
1/2 c. buckwheat groats
 
Bring to boil for about 20 minutes
then add
1/2 c. bulgar wheat
1/2 c. whole grain rye
 
(if the mix starts to dry up, just add more water and bring back to boil)
boil for about 10 minutes and add
1/2 c. millet
1/2 c. couscous

Cook another 5-10 minutes then remove from stove and cool

Stir in:

1/2 c. flax seed

 
I would freeze this cereal in portions.
Heat just before serving, and add
cooked apple, cooked sweet potato
mashed pineapple, mashed banana
dried cherries, raisins, dried currents
dried coconut, etc. 
 
As another meal, this same cereal mix can be added to cooked brown rice, cooked beans (red, white, lentils, kidney, garbanzo,
etc) and pasta with a combination of veggies, such as corn, peas, broccoli, carrots  etc.  Any combinations are fine!
